Today was a true reflection of what it means to be part of a #ProudHawkCommunity!
We had 20 dedicated educators from all levels come together for the Shifting the Balance book study, engaging in meaningful discussions to strengthen literacy instruction. A huge thank you to Beth Mears and the ROE for their leadership in this effort!
Additionally, our Pizza and Perspectives event brought together our incredible community and staff to continue our Strategic Planning efforts. Seeing the passion and commitment from everyone was truly inspiring. A special thanks to Charlie’s for hosting us and to Abbi for being the best waitress!

The blood drive at Heritage High School for tomorrow will be rescheduled for a later date.
Due to the weather forecast, Heritage will be on a half-day dismissal tomorrow (Wed, February 12). Both schools will dismiss at 11:30 AM. The afternoon forecast is calling for freezing rain, and we want to get everyone home safely. Extracurricular activities will be canceled.
🌸🎨 Floral Design Meets Sweet Creations! 🎨🌸
Heritage High School students just wrapped up our unit on Floral Design Elements, where we explored the color wheel, primary colors, secondary colors, and how they impact floral arrangements.
In Horticulture, students put their color-mixing skills to the test! Using only the three primary colors—red, blue, and yellow—they blended and created the full color wheel. Mrs. Magsamen took it a step further with students… on cookies! 🍪🌈
Students decorated their cookies to match the color wheel, showcasing their understanding of color theory. After all their hard work, they got to enjoy their delicious (and educational!) treats. 🎉

Starting in 8th grade, our students dive into the world of Industrial Technology & Trades, gaining real-world skills that will take them far into the future! 🔨⚙️🔥
